Kansas v. UConn. Natty champ duel.
Battle of the past two champions. Blue bloods (Yes, UConn is a blue blood). Big guns. Big East Big 12 Battle. Bill Self v. Dan Hurley. At Phog Allen Fieldhouse. December is here and college hoops are ramping up!
I mean this is college hoops fan’s dream. Non-conference matchups like this shouldn’t be taken for granted and this is why these conference “challenges” are the best. This game is going to be awesome. It’s a top 5 matchup with the Huskies (7-0) coming in at No. 4 and the Jayhawks (6-1) come in at No. 5. The headline coming into tonight is that this a matchup of the last two national champions. Matchups like this rarely come around. While both teams look different roster wise since when they cut down the nets in April, each team has some star power.
UConn returns big man Donovan Clingan and Tristen Newton has emerged as one of the nation’s best guards this season. UConn is battling some minor injuries with Stephon Castle (5 star freshman) out for the matchup. Kansas is headlined by big man Hunter Dickinson (Michigan transfer) and Kevin McCullar Jr. Safe to say there won’t be a shortage of star power in this one.
Many people (including some NBA scouts) will be tuning in for the matchup of Donovan Clingan and Hunter Dickinson. These are probably the two best big men in the country and have been highly touted for some time. Don’t get me started with Dickinson as he’s just the worst. The combination of having your own podcast while still in college, thinking you’re “him” when in reality you’re a fifth year college player, and transferring to Kansas for your final year. I can’t even blame him for transferring but it’s just so on par for the course. Actually I know what it was. It was this post (sorry you have to click on the link to see it).

What a cheese ball. I digress. Anyways I’m excited for this game. Not much fog in the fight, but just excited to watch some high-quality hoops.
Line is at Kansas -2.5 and honestly.. I absolutely love KU and the points. Am I allowed to swear on this thing? Lol it’s my own blog so damn right I can swear. Let me rephrase.. I fucking love Kansas -2.5. UConn is coming in riding an NCAA record. They have won 24 straight non-conference games by 10 or more points which is a NCAA record. To be fair it’s an insane. It wasn’t Wooden and Kareem, not Coach K and Laettner, not Rupp and those old school KY boys, and sure as hell wasn’t Mick Cronin (I can be funny sometimes). The record previously held by Roy Williams and Tyler Hansborough in 2008-2009, but it now belongs to Dan Hurley and the Huskies. Good. Everyone is going to be higher on the Huskies than they should be and we know Vegas always wins. Despite thinking Hunter Dickinson is a A1 douche, I LOVE KANSAS -2.5. And if you’re on the fence check this out.
Ted Lasso in Phog Allen? Forget it. Kansas doesn’t lose games like this at home. They win them. And not only that.. they cover. They win, cover, and cover convincingly. Take ’em and tune in at 9pm EST for some great hoops. Before I leave let’s talk it out. How does this work?
This was on Wednesday. What in the hell did these students do for 48+ hours? How do they eat, use the bathroom, or do absolutely anything without losing their spot? Most importantly… where the hell do they sleep? Shower? Idk man I understand camping out over night but 3 full days in a basketball arena is crazy. And guess what .. I love it. Kansas -2.5… as some smart people have taught me in my life put it on your wrist and fucking rip it. Jayhawks. Jayhawks. Jayhawks. Onions!
